Nicholas Hodgins FRCS (Plast)

Mr Nicholas Hodgins is a fully accredited Consultant Plastic Surgeon currently working within the Plastic Surgery departments of the Ulster and Royal Victoria Hospitals.

Mr Hodgins undertook his medical studies and higher surgical training in a number of prestigious plastic surgery centres around the UK including Newcastle Upon Tyne, Durham, Manchester, Middlesbrough and Belfast. On completing his plastic surgery training Mr Hodgins was nationally appointed to undertake an oncoplastic breast surgery fellowship at the Nightingale Breast Centre in Manchester, one of the largest and most reputable breast surgery units in Europe. During this period Mr Hodgins underwent subspecialist training in all aspects of oncological, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery of the breast.

Following this period of specialist training, Mr Hodgins was one of four UK Plastic Surgeons to be awarded the Niall Kirkpatrick Fellowship in Aesthetic Surgery by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS). During this dedicated period of subspecialist practice, he gained expertise in a wide range of cosmetic surgery including breast, abdominal, facial and eyelid surgery. Having been trained by leaders in this field, his exposure to the discipline of aesthetic surgery is extensive. Mr Hodgins is known in particular for his specialist aesthetic experience in breast and body procedures such as breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast lifting and tummy tucks. He also has comprehensive experience in non-surgical aesthetic treatments, often combining these with surgical procedures to achieve ideal results.

Mr Hodgins is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and is a member of BAPRAS (British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons), BAAPS (British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons) and the ABS (Association of Breast Surgeons). He is fully registered as a specialist in plastic surgery with the General Medical Council. Academically he has authored 13 peer-reviewed publications, delivered 16 international and national presentations and won 3 national prizes for his work. He enjoys teaching plastic surgeons of the future and is regularly involved as a faculty member on the North East Flap and Microsurgery courses.

    Mr Colin Weir is a Consultant Surgeon and Honorary Clinical Lecturer in Surgery. He was appointed in 1996 and has extensive experience in managing, treating and consulting on varicose veins. He has been at the forefront of introducing new technologies in vein treatment in Northern Ireland. He treats all vein types including cosmetic issues and symptomatic veins.
