Botox is a purified protein which can be used in small, controlled does to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles and fine lines. Botox works by temporarily relaxing the muscles that causes wrinkles leading to smoother and more youthful-looking skin. It is commonly used to address forehead lines, frown lines and to soften lines around the corners of the eyes. In addition it can also be used to smooth out fine lines on the side of the nose, around the lips, soften dimpling of the chin or, in certain circumstances, slim the jawline.

Botox treatments are delivered by injections into target muscle groups using an extremely fine needle and are normally very well tolerated by patients in an outpatient setting. It is a minimally invasive non surgical procedure that has no requirement for incisions or formal anaesthesia. Rejuvenation is normally appreciated within a few days with full results evident by 2 weeks after your procedure and typically lasts 3-6 months after which your muscles gradually return to their normal activity. Botox can sometimes be combined with other cosmetic procedures such as dermal filler injections or surgical procedures for enhanced aesthetic results.
